Why Sydney Homes Need the Right Window Furnishings Before Summer
Sydney summers bring strong UV, long daylight hours and intense afternoon heat. The right blinds and curtains aren't just about aesthetics; they actively protect your home from the heat and glare.
At CAS Blinds, everything we make is designed for Sydney conditions — from moisture-resistant PVC Venetians for coastal homes to blockout fabrics that handle Sydney's intense morning easterly sun.
Morning Sun — Eastern Suburbs & CBD
East-facing windows get intense early morning sun through summer. Venetian blinds let you angle slats to manage light without full blackout.
Coastal Humidity — Northern Beaches & Sutherland
PVC Venetian blinds are fully waterproof and won't warp in coastal humidity — the correct choice for homes within 5km of the coast.
Western Sun — Hills & Western Sydney
Afternoon western sun in summer is intense. Blockout roller blinds or double curtains protect west-facing rooms from heat gain.
Privacy — Inner West & North Shore
Closer housing means privacy matters year-round. Black Friday is the right time to upgrade — before you start opening windows for summer.

Which Product Suits Each Room?
Different rooms have different needs. Here's what we recommend — room by room — for Sydney homes heading into summer.
Bedroom
Early summer sunrises wake you up earlier. Blockout roller blinds or blockout curtains solve this — combined with a sheer for daytime privacy.
Roller Blockout / Double Curtains
Living Room
Summer entertaining means managing more light. Venetian blinds or sheer curtains let you control light without blocking the view — ideal for open-plan living.
Venetian Blinds / Sheer Curtains
Kitchen
Summer sun causes glare on benchtops and screens. PVC Venetians let you angle precisely — and wipe clean in seconds.
PVC Venetian Blinds
Bathroom
Warmer weather means more steam and humidity. PVC Venetian blinds are 100% waterproof — the only correct choice.
PVC Venetian Blinds
Home Office
Longer days mean more screen glare. Roller sheer or Venetian blinds let you manage glare without losing natural light.
Roller Sheer / Venetian Blinds
Kids' Room
Early summer sunrises disrupt children's sleep. Blockout roller blinds with cordless or motorised operation are the safest choice.
Blockout Roller Blinds (Cordless)Blinds or Curtains — Which Is Right for Your Black Friday Upgrade?
Light control and style are two different priorities. Here's how to match the right product to each room in your home before summer.
Venetian & Roller Blinds
Best when you want to manage light throughout the day. Venetian slats tilt to any angle; roller blinds retract fully to let in maximum natural light.
- Venetian: tilt slats for light without losing privacy
- Roller blockout: full darkness when you need it
- Roller sheer: soft, diffused natural light
- Easy to clean — ideal for kitchens & bathrooms
Curtains
Best when you want to add warmth, texture and personality to a room. With blockout or double combinations, they're just as practical.
- Sheer curtains: soft daylight with elegance
- Blockout curtains: total darkness for bedrooms
- Double curtains: sheer + blockout — best of both
- Multiple heading styles: eyelet, pinch pleat, S-fold
