Blockout and blackout are the same thing — both block close to 100% of light using a tightly woven fabric or coated lining. Dimout (such as our Milan range) reduces 70–90% of light without going pitch black, ideal for living rooms where you still want a soft glow.
The fabric itself blocks 100%. Real-world performance depends on installation. Light leaks come from gaps around the window edges, not through the fabric. To get true blackout: hang the track 15–20cm wider than the window, mount above the architrave (or just under the cornice), and ensure the curtain falls below the windowsill. Pinch pleat headers seal the top better than eyelet.
